February 24 – Nate Powell Signing
Nate Powell, Eisner Award winning creator of Swallow Me Whole and Any Empire, will be appearing at our Vienna store on Friday, February 24, from 6:00 to 7:30, to celebrate the release of his new book The Silence of Our Friends.
The Silence of Our Friends is a powerful look at the Civil Rights movement in Texas in the 1960s, and is written by Mark Long and Jim Demonakos based on true events.

March 3 – Magic Bullet #4 Release Party & BBQ
To celebrate the fourth issue of Magic Bullet, Washington DC’s free comic newspaper, many of issue 4′s creators will be appearing at our Vienna store on Saturday, March 3. Come by and see some of the original art that went into the new issue of Magic Bullet, buy some of the creators’ other comics work, and join us for a celebration BBQ lunch party!

March 11 – Dan Piraro Signing
After 25 years at the drafting table, acclaimed cartoonist Dan Piraro, creator of Bizarro has just drawn his 10,000th cartoon.
He’s putting his pens down for a night and returning to perform Washington, DC.
Join Dan for a pre-show Big Planet appearance from 6-7pm on Sunday, March 11. He’ll be signing copies of his NEW book, Bizarro Heroes a collection of his superhero themed spoofs from the last 25 years of Bizarro.
From there, he’s off to perform at the brand new Riot Act Comedy Theater (tickets $15.00).
