Best Sellers of 2023
Hi everyone! Here’s a look at our best sellers at all three of our stores this year. You can really see the difference between each location, but some books were popular everywhere.
Comparing to 2022 is really interesting, we get to see the continued popularity of several books that did really well last year. Saga 10 is still a bestseller, but Saga 11 finally came out so expect that to be on our list in 2024. Perennial favorite series like Something is Killing the Children 1, The Department of Truth 1, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin showed up again too.
A few books got a big boost from specific moments. James Gunn mentioning Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow as a key book that might become a movie got a lot of attention to it.
Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips continued their hit concept of releasing stand-alone noir graphic novels, with success for both Night Fever and Where the Body Was.
House of X / Powers of X relaunched X-Men in such a strong way that of course the collected book is also a great seller!
And finally, Do a Powerbomb continued to show Daniel Warren Johnson’s diverse and quality comics.
A few new books by amazing artists also were hits, like A Guest in the House, Ducks, Queenie: Godmother of Harlem, and Monica.

And here are the top 20 bestselling issues in 2023 from our stores!
Again, we see a lot of familiar favorites here. Saga remains huge whenever it comes out, and of course the classics like Batman, Avengers and X-Men.
A few miniseries or one shot issues had big impact too. Devil’s Cut introduced a new creator-owned publisher, DSTLRY. X-Men Hellfire Gala 2023 was an epic beginning of the end for the House of X / Powers of X run that we mentioned above! Ultimate Invasion started the return of the Ultimate universe, and DC Pride 2023 was a big hit coming out in Pride Month.
A few characters returned to comics for the first time in a while, leading to hits like Justice Society of America and Titans.
You can see the popular ones at each store too. X-Men titles continued to dominate in Washington DC, while a huge chunk of superheroes in Vienna are all selling about the same for a 10-way tie for 19th place!
