Best Sellers of 2025

Welcome back to our annual look at our best sellers across all three of our stores! We like seeing these trends, but also the individual flavors of each store and its customers.

Now with 4 years of sales to look back on, there are definite hits that keep selling year over year. Trends from last year continue into this one as well.

Some new books did break out. Along with the new volume of Saga, another Brian K. Vaughan book came out, Spectators. Bowling with Corpses had Mike Mignola return to drawing as well as writing. And then the new superhero universes for Marvel and DC, Ultimate and Absolute respectively, finally had collections come out, immediately jumping into bestseller categories. Criminal had a new stand-alone graphic novel The Knives come out, in anticipation of the TV adaptation. Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees and The Power Fantasy were some of our favorites of 2024 and stayed strong throughout the year.

Individual stores still had their favorites like The Deviant, Smoking Behind the Supermarket With You, Hobtown Mystery Stories, and The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn’t A Guy At All. DC also launched a line of digest-sized reprints, the “compact” editions that were only $10 so many of those sold very well, especially for perennial favorites. And our local anthologies did well too!

And here are the top 20 bestselling issues in 2025 from our stores!

This really carried over from 2024, where the new Absolute and Ultimate lines first started, and only continued to dominate in 2025. Batman also got a new restart for only the third time ever, so that did really well. The big superhero events did great as usual, with Marvel’s One World Under Doom and Imperial and Age of Revelation, as well as DC’s event DC K.O. The first crossover between the companies in many years, Batman / Deadpool and Deadpool / Batman were both big.

Other than that, it was mainly the usual big superhero comics like Spider-Man, X-Men, Justice League Unlimited, and perennial fave Saga when it came back.
